Caleb Café & Grill Opens in Miami — A Community Café Riders Should Know
Biker BAE arrived at the Joseph Caleb Center, where Caleb Café & Grill celebrated its grand opening on March 11 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by community members, local leaders, and supporters.
Located inside the community center, the café sits within one of the area’s busiest gathering spaces — a place where residents come for meetings, services, and events throughout the week.
For Biker BAE, attending moments like this is part of documenting the communities riders move through. Local restaurants and cafés often become natural stopping points along the ride, offering welcoming spaces where people can hop off the bike, enjoy a delicious meal, and connect with the culture and community around them.

Caleb Café & Grill was founded by two sisters, Beatrice Louissaint (above) and Marie Louissaint (below), who envisioned creating a space where good food, culture, and community could come together in Brownsville. Inside the café, guests are greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that reflects that vision — a place designed not just for dining, but for gathering.
During the grand opening, friends, families, and community members enjoyed a selection of light bites from the café’s menu, which features breakfast and lunch options, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

The founders worked behind the counter alongside their team, greeting guests and serving food as visitors filled the café. The café remained busy as supporters stopped in to congratulate the sisters and experience the new restaurant for themselves.
The moment reflected the hands-on approach the founders bring to their business — welcoming guests personally while creating the kind of atmosphere that encourages people to stay, connect, and enjoy the space.

The grand opening ceremony brought together local leaders, supporters, and residents who gathered to celebrate the new café and hear from the founders about their vision.
Tamara G. of Lite 101.5 FM emceed the event and welcomed guests as she helped mark the milestone for the new business.

Guests filled the atrium of the Joseph Caleb Center as they listened to remarks from speakers during the ceremony. The strong turnout highlighted the excitement surrounding the café’s opening and the support from the surrounding community.

Following the remarks, the official ribbon-cutting marked the moment Caleb Café & Grill officially opened its doors. A celebration for the beginning of the café’s journey and an ode to Joseph Caleb, a respected labor leader who has long been a cornerstone of civic life in the community.
Inside the café, guests enjoyed food and conversation as the space quickly filled with people stopping by to experience the new restaurant. The atmosphere felt lively and welcoming, with friends, families, and community members gathering.
For riders traveling through Miami, places like this offer a break from the road and an opportunity to experience the character of the neighborhoods they ride through.

During the celebration, guests were invited to sample desserts while connecting with other attendees and learn more about the café’s offerings. Moments like these help create the kind of relaxed environment that makes local restaurants feel like community gathering places.

Inside the café, a wall celebrating Black history and local culture adds deeper meaning to the space. Featuring historic publications and imagery honoring leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X, the display connects the café to the legacy and cultural heritage of the surrounding Brownsville community.
